FISHERMAN TABLE
2025The Fisherman Table is an object created by a hypothetical dialogue between a found material (overused electroplating rods) and a fictional character to whom I attributed the provenance of this object. The material inspired the creation of this character, and as the character developed within a narrative, it in turn guided the material toward the form it would ultimately take. These rods, typically used for submerging metal items into chrome-plating baths, accumulate residue over the years, forming dense conglomerates of copper, nickel, and chrome. They are byproducts of an industrial process, yet their growth evokes organic, coral-like formations, while their metallic surface retains an aseptic, industrial quality.
